Questions that need answering:
Why are we doing this?
If the City owns the hangers, then rents them out – who are the principals of the company that rents out the hangers? Who stands to profit?
Why did you allow residential building in the airport zone when you projected expansion?
Why do new homes in zone 2 require significant upgrades in noise reduction building products, yet there is not monies set aside for existing homes to improve?
Explain how is this going to benefit the greater good of York County and Rock Hill?
What companies are planning on moving here because of the airport?
If you lower my property value will you lower my tax base?
Do you have plans to fight a class action law suit if this is passed? Have you looked at that cost of that action?
If we do not need the noise contour zone for funding, then why implement it?
We have not applied for funding yet and do not know if we will get the funding, then why proceed with the deed restrictions?
Why not take some time and do things right?
Why does the City not have a complaint program in place?
Can we get a local complaint program?
What assurances do we have that Regional Jets will not make this home? Can you guarantee this, in writing?
Why should we believe the City and County have our best interest at heart?
With out studies being in place and real impact figures on what the expansion will do to the local economy, why are we proceeding?
What will the airport do for the greater good of the region – who is the region and why are we taking care of the region and not our own citizens?
What about fire station requirements, where will the funds come for this?
Why would Rock Hill put so many people and their properties at risk?
Why don’t we follow the example of other airports and get the procedures in place to protect the people? (curfew, sound sensors, monies for upgrading sound proofing)
Why do we have to spend millions for such an elite few?
