The Airport hasstated that 25% of the transient

number is jet activities lets look at those numbers:

12,500 Transient11,076 Transient 1,424 events 29.4% of total operations
3,125 jet traffic2,769 jet traffic356 event growth 7% of total operations or 25% of transient operations

Expansion: We are speaking of expanding this airport for less then 2% of the total operations, if they meet the funding requirement. Mr. Baker stated that in 2003 they had 37,675 events (an event is one take off or one landing). The airport this year stated that in 07 they had 42,500 events. This is a difference of 4,825 events in 4 years.

The FAA has stated, of the jet traffic we have, they (the FAA), would have to determine how many of these jets will require the longer runway, and how many are operating during the time of year that will require them to need the longer runway (July and August). Currently the FAA has stated we do not meet there requirement of 700 jet events that will require a longer runway. 700/42,500 = 1.6% of airport operations. We want to fund an airport expansion for less then 2% of the total airport operations that will need a longer runway in hotter months. We want to fund this expansion for a growth of 356 jet events in the past 4 years. That would be 89 events per year. We currently have no jets hangered here, so each jet coming into the airport would have 1 take off and 1 landing (2 events). This means at a maximum we have had 44 additional jets per year on average coming into this airport over the last 4 years and wish to spend 14 million in tax dollars to fund an expansion for them.

To Clairfy the numbers above the total airport operations 2003 came from Mr. Baker, I caculated the numbers that have been given to us for 2007 operations and then caculated the percentages.  Then used those percentages to caculate the breakdown of operations for 2003.
