Bryant Field - Rock Hill/York County Airport - KUZA
Cost to Tax Payer
This airport operates in the red every year. We are expanding a losing venture with City, County, State and Federal dollars! THE OVERALL COST IS GREATER THAN THE CITY AND COUNTY ARE SHOWING - $23.1 million FAA dollars (eligible but not guaranteed), $1.2 million State dollars and $13 million in City and County funding! Total funding of $37 million. Tax levies are stipulated as one of the funding sources.

No funding has been approved, requested or granted for this project currently - FAA Southern Region Office.
Airport does not meet the need of 90,000 prop events or 700 jet events (this has to be the jets that require a longer runway) in order to qualify for the funding program. Here are the numbers (these numbers are not accurate as the airport does not document this):
AIRPORT NUMBERS:
1 Event = 1 Take Off or 1 Landing
• 42,500 events per year/365 days = 116 events per day
• 4.8 per hour – 1.20 per 15 min.
• 12,500 Transient Events x 25% (jets) = 3125 events per year
for jets – that is 8.6 per day
• 3125 represents 7% of the total events
• If we met the 700 jet events per year required for funding,
it would mean we are funding this expansion for 1.6% of
the total events this airport has.
• 1.6% of the total airport operations to receive $14,000,000
in funding so they can take off in July and some of August!
